How does cashback work?

Aftertaste cashback is available to Premium members who make an advance reservation through the platform. After dining, upload your receipt and submit a review. Once your claim is verified, cashback is credited to your Aftertaste wallet. The cashback amount is based on the eligible pre-VAT portion of your bill, as set by each participating restaurant.

How do I submit a claim?

To submit a cashback claim, you must first make a reservation through Aftertaste and dine at the participating restaurant. After dining, go to the Claims page as your dashboard, select your booking, upload a clear photo of your receipt, and submit. Walk-in visits without a prior reservation are not eligible for cashback but may earn a Lucky Spin token.

What counts as a valid receipt?

A valid receipt must clearly show the restaurant name, date of dining, itemised orders, and the total amount paid. Blurry, cropped, altered, or duplicate receipts will not be accepted. Digital receipts shown on screen are accepted provided all required details are clearly visible.

When will I receive cashback?

Claims are typically reviewed within 3–5 working days of submission. Once approved, cashback is credited to your Aftertaste wallet. You will receive a notification when your claim has been processed.

Is my data safe?

Yes. Aftertaste collects only the information necessary to operate the platform — this includes your contact details, dining information, and receipt images. We are registered with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) and handle all personal data in accordance with UK GDPR. We do not sell or share your data with third parties without your consent, except where required to process your claim or comply with the law. For full details, see our Privacy Notice.

How much cashback will I earn?

Cashback amounts vary by restaurant and by the time slot you book. The maximum available cashback for each restaurant is shown on their profile page. Actual cashback may be lower depending on your reservation time, and excludes alcohol, service charges, and tips unless otherwise stated.

Why was my cashback claim rejected or adjusted?

Claims may be rejected or adjusted if the receipt is unclear, the dining time falls outside the eligible offer window, the discount voucher was not presented at the time of payment, or the bill contains ineligible items such as alcohol or service charges. How long do I have to submit a claim after dining?

Claims must be submitted within 7 days of your dining visit. Claims submitted after this window will not be eligible for review.

Can I submit the same receipt more than once?

No. Each receipt can only be submitted once. Duplicate submissions will be detected and rejected. Submitting a duplicate receipt may result in account suspension.

What is the difference between Free and Premium membership?

Free members can browse restaurants, view menus and ratings, upload receipts to earn Lucky Spin tokens, and receive one bonus spin per month. Premium members get everything in Free, plus access to dining discounts and cashback rewards at participating restaurants when booking in advance through Aftertaste.

Can I cancel my Premium membership?

Yes, you can cancel at any time from your account dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you will retain Premium access until then. Subscription fees are non-refundable.

Can I switch between monthly and annual plans?

Yes. You can upgrade or change your plan from your account settings. Changes take effect at the start of your next billing cycle.

What is Lucky Spin?

Lucky Spin is a reward feature available to all members. You earn spin tokens by uploading receipts from participating restaurants (one token per approved receipt) and through a free monthly bonus token. Each spin gives you a chance to win prizes credited to your Aftertaste wallet.

How do I redeem my wallet balance?

Once your wallet reaches the minimum threshold shown on the Rewards page, you can request a redemption. Rewards are issued as gift vouchers or other methods available on the platform at the time of redemption.

Can I submit a claim for a walk-in visit?

Yes — any member can upload a receipt from a walk-in visit at a participating restaurant to earn a Lucky Spin token. However, walk-in visits are not eligible for cashback rewards. To earn cashback, you must make an advance reservation through the platform.
